The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. Their vision is a world where the diversity of life thrives, and people act to conserve nature for its own sake and its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives. We donate to the Plant a Billion Trees campaign.
The mission of The Eco Soap Bank is to employ women to recycle soap from manufacturers for NGO’s in the developing world. Their vision is to contribute to hygiene, reduce waste, and provide an income for women in a half dozen countries on two continents. Since 2014 Eco-Soap Bank has touched the lives of 3.5 million people. We donate unused soap bars to the Eco-Soap Bank initiative, which supplies small bars of soap to persons in need.
Mountain Backpacks is a supplemental food program whose mission is to help kids stay full and focused throughout the school year. They do this through the power of volunteerism and community support. They are a service project of theEvergreen Rotary FoundationandEvergreen Lutheran Churchand a proud partner of theFood Bank of the Rockies. They work closely with and have been mentored by Evergreen Christian Outreach since they began in 2013. From the home base in Evergreen they also support children living in nearby Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties. Currently they have student volunteers from National Charity League, National Honor Society, Scouts of America and Interact who help them hold food drives and pack the backpacks.
Tall Grass Spa, located nearby in Evergreen Colorado, gives back to the planet in many ways. One way is to create Gift Boxes for soldiers overseas on active duty, and ship them to them. The boxes contain many items “from home” that soldiers might like, but rarely receive. Books, toiletries, and other personal items are hand packed by volunteers, and boxed and shipped twice a year. Brook Forest Soap participates by providing numerous packages of hand crafted soap for the soldiers. We are proud to send a small bar of luxury to those who protect us far away from home.
Tulane University – Reproductive Health Program – Democratic Republic of the Congo
Tulane University in New Orleans LA maintains a program to help with women’s issues in the DRC, one of the most difficult countries in the world to conduct an operation amidst uncertainty as well as Ebola. Brook Forest Soap assists by supplying the researchers with boxes of soap to distribute several times a year. In a country where they have so little, a small bar of soap is a truly personal item and can make a difference in the lives of many.
King Soopers – Conifer Colorado
Donation of 200 Guest Size bars of soap on April 4, 2020 during the Coronavirus Pandemic – in appreciation of the sacrifices made by the employees of our local grocery store.
Jefferson County – Adopt a Road Program
Brook Forest Soap has adopted the section of road from US 285 in Conifer along County Road 83 / South Elk Creek Road for 2 miles past the entrance to Staunton State Park.
We perform a cleanup of this section with friends several times a year. We love the waves and horn beeps we get from passersby when we are in action. BFS feels it’s important to give back on the local level.
